Chorus Pleases Audience With A Lenten Program
The Lutheran Chorus, a recent organization of this city (Sheboygan), pleased
an appreciative audience with a mixed program of festive and Lenten songs,
Sunday afternoon at the Ebenezer Lutheran church, Fifteenth street and St. Clair
avenue. From the very first note, which burst upon the expectant audience like a
peal of thunder, to the last plaintive sigh of the alto soloist singing, “As
Sinks Beneath the Ocean,” the audience sat almost breathless.
The last
number was only made possible by the artistic ability of the alto soloist, Miss
Bock, of Medford, Wis. The able director, Mr. Bangert of this city, showed that
he has the program well in hand. Under his leadership the chorus rendered the
program in excellent style.
The same program was rendered in the evening
at the Lutheran church at Howards Grove to an equally panegyric audience.
