Bowen, Olivia (1881 – 1964

HOLD FUNERAL SERVICES FRIDAY FOR MRS. BOWEN

Funeral services for Mrs. John (Olivia) Bowen will be held tomorrow afternoon, Friday, April 3, at the First congregational Church, Owen.  Burial will be made at Riverside cemetery, Withee, Rev. Robert Goessling will conduct the final rites.

Friends may call at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home this afternoon and evening.

Pallbearers will be Walton Englebretsen, Martin Paulson, S. E. Grimes, Edgar Albert, Rolland Haire and Orville Rudley.  In charge of floral offerings will be Mesdames William Creg, Lorraine Lurras, Orville Rudley and Peter Zasoba.

Death came to Mrs. Bowen late Monday night at Victory Memorial Hospital at Stanley where she had been confined for medical treatment for the past several weeks.

Mrs. Bowen nee Olivia Bredson, was born December 22, 1881, at Solar, Norway.  In September, 1901, she exchanged wedding vows with John Bowen in a ceremony performed in Minnesota.  The couple farmed in the town of Longwood until retiring in 1946 and since that time she has resided in Withee.

She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Herman (Borghild) Thiel, Owen and Mrs. John (Hilda) Awe, rural Withee; a brother, Julius Bredeson, route 2, Withee; three sons, Lucius Bowen, Withee, John Bowen, Abbotsford, and Clayton Bowen, Seattle Wash.; two daughters, Mrs. R. L. (Edna) Berger and Mrs. Orville (Evelyn) Frederick, Appleton; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
