Humbird (20 February 1969)

Mr. and Mrs. William Sandmire will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary Sunday, March 2, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Viola. Their two daughters, Mrs. Art Marohl and Mrs. Norma Wedwick, and her sister, Mrs. Harold Losey, will host the event. Both Mr. and Mrs. Sandmire were former residents here and are well known.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Plowman of Wisconsin Rapids visited last Sunday at the John Burchell home.

Will Theiler and Art Christen were dinner guests Sunday at the John Greub home.

Mrs. Helen Nelson and Mrs. Ruth Peterson of Eau Claire visited Sunday afternoon at the Newton home.

Mr. and Mrs. Ben Clouse of Loyal visited Sunday at the Henry Laffe home.

Mrs. Arnold Matti was an overnight guest Thursday of Mrs. Edith Henning in Eau Claire.

Mrs. Pearl Johnson and Mrs. Thelma Wright came back Thursday from a visit at the Fred Olson home in Enterprise, Ala., and are at the Wright home in Augusta.

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Buttke and family of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bornowski and children of Wausau and Mr. and Mrs. Roger Nering and boys of Eau Claire were weekend visitors at the Ted Polege home. Mr. and Mrs. Art Grauman of Stratford and Mrs. Mayme Laesig of Loyal joined the family group Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Plowman of Wisconsin Rapids visited Saturday at the Raymond Stuve home.

Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Taylor and Joseph of Mosinee were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Markham. They were joined Sunday by Mr. and Mrs. Milton Washburn for a family visit.

Mrs. Frieda Zerbel spent Sunday at the home of her brother, Mr. and Mrs. Max Shenk.

Alan Prindle of Alma Center showed slides of his trip and visit in Japan as a student to the 4-H group which met at the grade school Sunday afternoon.

Mrs. Elmer Duerkop, Mrs. Margaret Richter of Alma Center and Mrs. Emma Gerber were in Osseo Sunday to call on Mrs. Ida Holman.

Mr. and Mrs. Levi Fitzmaurice were Neillsville visitors Monday.

Mrs. Edith Smith is spending a few days with her daughter and other relatives in Decorah, Ia.

Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Carlson and children of Stillwater, Minn., were weekend guests of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Kirby.

Herbert Adler and Vincent Ruzic were Neillsville visitors Monday morning. Snowmobiles do have to have repairs.

Robert Fisher of Wisconsin Rapids spent Saturday afternoon at the Herb Adler home.

Mrs. Emma O’Leary came home Tuesday from the Black River Falls hospital, better, but still very uncomfortable from her recent fall.

Mr. and Mrs. George Michels and Carl of rural Alma Center were dinner guests Sunday of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Fitzmaurice.

Mrs. Ed Barkley is in the hospital again. Her sister, Mrs. Laura Dignin, came home Sunday morning from Eau Claire and then spent the day with her daughter, Mrs. Gil Blom, at Price.

Mr. and Mrs. Dale Giloy have moved to Neenah, where he has employment.

Mr. and Mrs. William Staves and Mrs. Matie Smith were in Sparta Friday to call on Mrs. Leone Pettigrew at the Morrow Home. They found her cheerful and in her usual health again after an illness.
