Franz, Meta Lena (8 September 1889 - 23 February 1969)

Mrs. Calvin Franz, 69, died Sunday in Marshfield, where she had been in a hospital since December 2. Mrs. Franz, the former Meta Lena Decker, daughter of Henry and Amelia (Buker) Decker, was born September 8, 1889, in the Town of Warner. She was married September 21, 1921 to Calvin Franz at the home of her parents. They farmed northwest of Greenwood until they moved to the city of Greenwood in 1948.

Mrs. Franz was a member of Immanuel United Church and the Women’s Guild; the American Legion Auxiliary and the Neighborhood group.

She survived by her husband; a sister, Mrs. Harold (Esther) Sievert of Minong; and three brothers, Oscar Decker of Spencer, William and Arno Decker of Greenwood.

Funeral services are scheduled for today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. from the Immanuel United Church. The Rev. David Logue will officiate and burial will be made in the West Side Cemetery.
