Honzik, Peter Sr. (7 February 1884 - 23 February 1969)

Peter Honzik, Sr., 85, of the Town of Levis, died Sunday in Neillsville following a short illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday from the Georgas Funeral home, with the Rev. Jacob Grether officiating. Burial was made in the Bohemian National Cemetery in Chicago, Ill. Burial services are being held today (Thursday) in Chicago, Ill.

Mr. Honzik was born February 7, 1884, in Czechoslovakia. He came to the United States as a young man and worked in Chicago, Ill., for the Ford Motor Co., and in the building trade before coming to Clark County. The family located on a farm in the Town of Levis, where he had resided since. Mr. Honzik was ill only a short time, having been active until three weeks ago.

He was married in 1907 in Chicago, Ill., to Anna Cajthamel, who died in 1929. In 1930, he was married to Marie Suchanek, who died in 1968. He was a member of the Western Bohemian Fraternal association.

He is survived by five children: Peter, Jr., of Rt. 3 Neillsville; Joe S. Honsik of Berwyn, Ill.; Mrs. Joe (Mildred) Holub of Alma Center; Mrs. Everett (Mae) Juntunen of Osseo; and Mrs. Charles (Libby) Matousek of Neillsville; and by a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Helen Suchanek of Hatfield. Other survivors include 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
