Hendricks, Jennie Florence "Nightingale" (Klabon) (1 AUG 1926 - 22 MAY 2012)

Jennie Florence "Nightingale" Hendricks, age 85, of Eau Claire, passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at the Rutledge Home in Chippewa Falls.

Jennie was born in Withee on August 1, 1926 to Hermann and Anna (Witkowski) Klabon. She married Gordon Hendricks on January 28, 1955.

They lived in Gilman where they owned and managed the Gilman Nursing Home. Jennie was also the administrator at the nursing home. Her compassion and unconditional love for friends and family will be sorrowfully missed. Her grandchildren always put a wonderful smile on her face. She always put her family first. She would pray at night for all those around her, especially her children and grandchildren. She loved singing Bible hymns, and her voice could always be heard echoing throughout the church. Even God himself could hear her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Russell Hendricks, who passed away on May 22, 2001; her three brothers, Ray, Ossie and Herman; and one sister, Claire.

Jennie is survived by two sisters, Ruth Erickson and June Boening; five children, Vickie (Gary) Haas of Deltona, Fla., Joseph (Kathy) Hendricks of Pocahontas, Ark., Anne (Jeff) Kain of Fall Creek, and Mary Olsen and Mark Hendricks, both of Eau Claire; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren with one little girl on the way; 13 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and many friends who were all very special to her.

A celebration of life was held on Saturday, May 26 at Stokes, Prock and Mundt Funeral Chapel in Altoona, with Bishop Sorge of The Church of Jesus Christ-LDS officiating. Interment took place at Riverside Cemetery in the Township of Hixton, Clark County.
