Medford native Marilyn Anderson, 85, died on
Friday, June 8.
A private family service was held.

MEDFORD,
WI - Marilyn passed away on June 8, 2012. She was born on July 31, 1926 in
Medford, Wisconsin to Walter and Mary Hug. She attended college in Marshfield
and Madison and married George Anderson in 1947.
She and George raised
their family in Eau Claire, WI and retired to Texas. During their retirement,
they traveled extensively around the United States in their RV. While raising
her family, Marilyn was active in her church and in the community. Among other
activities she was involved in Camp Fire for over 25 years going from group
leader to a member of the National Council. She and George also hosted a number
in international exchange students.
After receiving her degree at the
University of Wisconsin in Eau Clair, Marilyn held a number of jobs, the most
recent of which was as a teacher at the Chippewa Valley Technical Institute
where she taught and mentored many young people.
Marilyn enjoyed
traveling, gardening, reading, handicrafts and talking with friends and family.
She was an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother and community member.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, George Anderson and her children; Mary
Kay Anderson, Jill Dean, Philip Anderson and Ron Anderson and her grandchildren;
Ben Buxton, Essie Buxton, Elizabeth Dean, Brian Anderson and Laura Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister; Dorothy Krakenberger,
her brothers; Norval and Norman Hug and her grandson; William Dean.
Memorial contributions can be made in the name of Marilyn Anderson to the First
Congregational United Church of Christ, 310 Broadway Street, Eau Claire, WI
54703 or the First Presbyterian Church at 1102 Ash Drive, Mission, TX.
