LeClair "Clair" R. Persich, 82, Medford, died on
Saturday, June 23 at Our House Assisted Living in Medford, where she has resided
the past seven years, while under hospice care.
Funeral services will be
held on Thursday, June 28 at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford,
with Father Gerard Willger and Deacon Joe Stefancin officiating. Burial will be
at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford. Pallbearers are Roy Doering, Elroy
Spreen, Lester Hirt, and Hank and Dennis Mertens.

of Medford assisted the family with arrangements.
The former LeClair
Poirier was born on September 25, 1929 in Medford to the late Joseph "Mose" C.
and Ruth (Wasserman) Poirier.
She attended Medford area elementary
schools, was a 1947 graduate of Medford High School, and attended Taylor County
Teachers College in Medford, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and
UW-Stevens Point, earning a degree in elementary education.
On June 22,
1950 in Medford, she married William "Bill" J. Persich, who preceded her in
death on January 30, 1987. She taught elementary education in Westboro and at
Clearview Elementary in Rib Lake for over 30 years until her retirement. During
retirement she worked as a substitute teacher in Stetsonville and Medford.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and past member of the
Medford Curling Club and Lockett Curlers and Tee-Hi Golf Club. She enjoyed
curling, golfing, playing cards, birthday clubs, cooking, traveling and her
grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Persich of Madison
and Mary (Terry) Patrick of Medford, two twin granddaughters, Shannon (Greg)
Pitel of Green Bay and Michelle (Jeremy) DuChateau of Littleton, Colo.; and two
great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was
preceded in death by a sister, Betty Kennedy.
In lieu of flowers, the
family requests memorial contributions to Hope Hospice.
