Norma Ann Savina, age 87, of
Stanley, passed away on April 3, 2013, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire, WI.
Norma was born on January 27, 1926, in Stanley, WI, the daughter of the late
Cornelius and Minnie (Endvick) Ebben. She grew up in the Stanley area, attended
Garfield elementary School and graduated from Stanley high School in 1943. On
February 3, 1944, she was united in marriage to Vincent Savina at St. Anne’s
Catholic Church, Stanley. The couple lived in Stanley, with Norma working at
various jobs: Nellie’s Café waitressing, the Ben Franklin Dime Store as a
cashier, ITT Insurance of Thorp in the Microfilm Department, and the
Stanley-Boyd High and Middle School office as a secretary. She was a lifelong
member of Holy Family Catholic Church, where she belonged to the Catholic
Women’s Club, Holy Family PCCW, and was also a member of the Teamsters Union.
Norma is survived by her children: Mary Kay (Jason) Henderson of
Stanley, William Savina of Cumberland, WI, James (Ardy) Savina and Michael
(Debra) Savina, both of Stanley; grandchildren: Daniel Szymoniak, Brian Savina,
Matthew (Gretchen) Savina, Megan (Dennis) LaMarche; great-grandchildren: Lakyn
Wiese and Jayce Savina; sisters-in-law: Colleen ‘Lil’ Ebben of Stanley, and
Sophie Nawrocki of Boyd.
She was preceded in death by her husband,
Vincent, in 1995; granddaughter, Denise Savina; sister, Lorraine Jasper; and
brother, Kenneth Ebben.
Services were held on Monday, April 8, 2013, at
11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, Stanley. Entombment followed in the
Chapel of hope Mausoleum, Chippewa Falls. Visitation for family and friends was
from 3-7 p.m. on Sunday evening at the Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley with a 6:30
rosary being recited.
