Ketelhut, Emil (1887 – 19 APR 1964)

SERVICES HELD YESTERDAY FOR EMIL KETELHUT, 77

Emil Frederick Ketelhut, 77, and a resident of Owen since 1940 died Sunday, April 19, after being ill but a short while with pneumonia.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home.  Rev. Beryl Knudsen, Pastor of Nazareth Lutheran Church, Withee, officiated.  Burial was made at Riverside cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers were Newell and William Wilson, Louis Mohr, Einar Pedersent, Art Meier and Archie Ackerman.

Emil Ketelhut was born March 7, 1887, in the Town of Lebanon, Dodge County.  He spent many years residing in Taylor County where he farmed, held public offices and later moved to Owen in 1940.  Here he found employment in the dairy plant and later served as a bartender.

The past two years he has been a resident of the Havenet Nursing Home.

Emil, who never married, is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Raymond (Anna) Berg, Auburndale, and Adella Liberty, 1612 S. 65th Street, West Allis, Wis., and eight nephews and nieces.

Among those here from away for yesterday’s services were Mrs. Adella Liberty, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bjornstad and family, West Allis; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Berg and Mrs. Ruth Kiehl, Auburndale; Mrs. Max Ketelhut and Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Ketelhut, Medford.
