BEATRICE FRANZ BECOMES BRIDE OF CHARLES RUE
The Rev. Robert Goessling performed the double ring
ceremony at the home of the bride’s parents on Saturday, May 24th,
1964, when Beatrice Bertha Franz, became the bride of Charles Howard Rue, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Mac Rue of Spencer.
The home was decorated with crepe paper and flowers of
lilacs and sweet Williams when the bride was given in marriage by her father.
Fifteen guests were in attendance.
The bride was gowned in a dark jersey dress with white
hat and gloves for accessories.
She carried a bouquet of red roses and white
carnations.
Attending the bride as matron of honor was her sister,
Mrs. Lee Kenyon, who wore a light blue jersey dress accented by white hat and
gloves.
The bridesmaid was Mrs. Charles Vanduhoof, a cousin of
the groom who was attired in a dark purple jersey dress with white hat and
gloves.
They both carried a bouquet of pink and white
carnations.
Attending the groom as best man was Lee Kenyon, a
brother-in-law of the bride from Spencer, and Mr. Charles Vanduhoof.
“I Love you Truly” was sung by Mrs. Lee Kenyon during the
ceremony,
Following the wedding, a dinner was served at the
home.
Decorations for the tables were in blue and white with
the wedding cake being made by the Matron of Honor, Mrs. Lee Kenyon.
The bride attended the Owen Public Schools and the groom
attended the Spencer High School and since has been occupied at farming.
The newly-weds are now residing on their farm west of Spencer.
