FINAL RITES HELD FOR MRS. MIKE ANDERSEN
The remains of Mrs. Carl Marius “Mike” Andersen, a
long-time Withee resident, were returned here for final rites and burial on
Friday, June 5, 1964.
Mrs. Anderson died Monday, June 1, at the
hospital in Woodruff, Wis., where she was taken after suffering a heart attack
while visiting at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. E. L.
Schlecht.
At the final rites held at the Hoeper and Kraut
Funeral Home, Owen, Rev. LeRoy Urman, Pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church,
Withee, officiated.
Burial was made at riverside.
Serving as pallbearers were four grandsons,
Terry Crowley, David Hoffman, Steven Frankowski and John Stock, and two
sons-in-law, F. S. Frankowski and E. L. Schlecht.
During the service Mrs. Robert Hopkins, Madison a
niece of the deceased sang, “Abide With Me,” and “Beneath The Cross of Jesus.”
She was accompanied at the organ by Mrs.
Andersen’s nephew, Franklin McMiller.
Anna Andersen, nee Braun, was born December 11, 1883
at Manitowoc.
On June 29, 1904, she was married to Carl
Marius “Mike” Anderson.
The couple made their home in Withee until 1938
at which time they moved to Milwaukee.
On June 29, 1954, they enjoyed a reunion with
their family and celebrated their Golden Wedding Aniversary.
Mrs. Andersen was a member of Rebecca Lodge, Royal
Neighbors, St. John’s Lutheran Church and Lutheran Church of Milwaukee.
Her passing is mourned by two sons: Norman, of
San Francisco, Calif., and Albert (Pat) of Augusta; four daughters, Mrs. J. J.
(Amy) Crowley, Owen, Mrs. Sam (Ethelyn) Hoffman, Wausau, Mrs. E. L. (Helen)
Schlect, Lac du Flambeau, Mrs. F. S. (Wanda) Frankowski, Milwaukee; 13
grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband who
died in 1956 and two sons who died in infancy.
