Shupe, Lee (08 Aug 1890-01 Mar 1964)

Mr. Lee Shupe, 73, Loyal, died at his home March 1 at 5:30 a.m.. He has been in ill health for several years.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with military rites by the Americal Legion Post No. 175. Rev. Norbert E. King will officiate at the funeral Mass and burial will be in the parish cemetery. The body is reposing at the Myre Funeral Home.

Lee Shupe was born August 8, 1890 at Loyal. He was married to Verna Domine at Neillsville in 1924. He lived in the Loyal area all his life. He worked on the section of the Soo Line for many years and retired 14 years ago. Mr. Shupe was a veteran of World War 1, was overseas, and had 14 months service.

There will be a Wake Service, Wednesday night at 9 p.m. Mr. Shupe was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Evelyn) Syth, Loyal; Mrs. Leo (Mary Ann) Prime, Greenwood; four sond, Edward, Donald and Jerome of Loyal; and Lawrence Cheyanne, Wyoming. He is also survived by two brothers, Glen Shupe, Spencer; John Shupe, Berlin and seven sisters, Mrs. Vernard (Elva) Kauffman, Mrs. Jesse (Vivian) Raab, Loyal; Mrs. Hasting (Ione) Baird, Greenwood; Mrs. Jack (Helena) Fayhey, Stanley; Mrs. Lawrence (Nettie) Davel, Loyal; Mrs. Charles (Mabel) Barr, Neillsville; and Mrs. Willard (Elsie) Ziemendorf, Wisconsin Rapids; and by 17 grandchildren.

One infant daughter preceded him in death.
