CONDUCT
FINAL RITES FOR MRS. J. L. MCCORISON
Funeral
services were held at 10:00 o’clock this morning for Mrs. J. L. McCorison at the
Hansen Chapel in Marshfield. Pastor
Wesley Dafoe of the First Methodist Church officiated.
Later burial took place at Riverside cemetery in Ladysmith where Rev.
Floyd Litchfield, Pastor of the Methodist Church of Ladysmith, conducted the
graveside rites.
Mrs.
McCorison passed away Monday morning at the Memorial Nursing Home in Medford
where she had been a resident the past year.
Prior to that time she had made her home in Owen for two and one half
years with her son, Mr. and Mrs. John McCorison.
The
former Ethel Melissa Allen was born February 3, 1875, in New London, Ohio, and
received her education there and at Ashland, Wis.
Her marriage to J. L. McCorison, who preceded her in death on July 13,
1939, took place April 25, 1897, at Ashland.
After
their marriage, the couple lived at Ashland and Ladysmith before going to
Marshfield in 1926.
Mrs.
McCorison was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the D.A.R. and a past
matron of Eastern Star.
Survivors
include five sons, George McCorison, Denver, Colo.; the Rev. J. Lyle McCorison,
Topsfield, Mass.; Frank McCorison, Claim Lake; John McCorison, Owen; and Lewis
McCorison, San Diego, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Norman (Margaret) Kamps,
Marshfield; 18 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
She was
preceded in death by a daughter, a son, and a sister.
