Humbird (13 March 1969)

Art Allen was in the Veteran’s hospital at Madison for several days, having a checkup on his eyes.

Mrs. Matie Smith accompanied Mr. and Mrs. William Lehmann of Granton to Appleton for a few days’ visit at the home of her son, Melvin Smith. Before coming home, she visited her son, Everett, in Spencer. He brought her home late Monday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Levi Fitzmaurice were in Neillsville Monday to attend the funeral of Mrs. Frieda Holub.

Mr. and Mrs. Earl Pierce of Neillsville called at the Arnold Matti home Thursday.

Mrs. William Theiler, Sr., came home last week Wednesday from her trip to Colorado and California. She was met in Minneapolis by her son, Fricky.

Mrs. Kate Dignin, accompanied by Mrs. Maude Newton and Mrs. Henry Laffe, drove to Fairchild last Friday to attend the World Day of Prayer service. There were three churches represented at the service.

Mrs. Clarence Buttke of Milwaukee came Friday night to spend until Sunday at the Ted Polege home. Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Rink of Watertown, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Nering and boys of Eau Claire, Mr. and Mrs. Harland Meyers of Cedar Falls, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bornowski and family of Wausau joined the family for the weekend.

Mrs. Millie Trachsel and Mrs. Lyle Prindle were in Black River Falls Wednesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Art Allen spent Sunday with relatives in Wisconsin Rapids.

Mrs. Marion Tolar, associate grand matron of the Order of Eastern Star, and her traveling companion, visited Thursday afternoon at the home of Maude Newton and then were guests of the local Order of the Eastern Star at a banquet served by the Guild of the United Church of Christ. The ladies returned to their homes in Pell Lake and Verona Friday after being overnight guests of Mrs. Harold Losey in Fairchild.

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Anderson and family of Madison were weekend guests of her mother, Mrs. Margaret Martin, and brother, Raymond, and other members of the family.

Mrs. Margaret Rungin of Seattle, Wash., visited at the Manly and Raymond Stuve homes for a couple days. She is a cousin of Mrs. Margaret Martin. Mrs. Rungin left Sunday for St. Paul to visit a son before returning home.

Mel Hanson of Greenwood and Larry Hanson of Wausau visited Mrs. Christine Hanson Sunday.

William Carroll of Gays Mills was a dinner guest Sunday at the Rudy Aeschbacher home.

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Johnson and family were dinner guests at the Leonard Klatt home in Fairchild Sunday in honor of their little daughter’s birthday.
