MRS.
WILLIAM KEMNOW FORMER RESIDENT, DIES
The Victor Decker family drove to
Watertown Monday where Tuesday they attended funeral services conducted for Mrs.
Decker’s mother, Mrs. William Kemnow, a former resident of this city.
Mrs. Kemnow died at 4:00 p.m. Friday, July 10, at Akron City Hospital, Akron,
Ohio, where she had been admitted following a stroke which she suffered two
weeks prior to her death.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 O’clock
Tuesday, July 14, from the Schmutzler Funeral Home in Watertown, Wisconsin. Rev.
Stephen C. Evans of the First Congregational Church officiated. Burial was made
at Oak Hill Cemetery in Watertown.
Mrs. Kemnow was the former Sadie
Riemer, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Riemer. She was born December
12, 1892, at Greenville, Wisconsin. Her marriage to the late William Kemnow, who
preceded her in death in 1947, took place at Chippewa “Falls in 1912. The couple
made their home in this city for more than 20 years as he was associated with
the lumbering industry.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Alice
Batey, Germantown, Wis., Mrs. Bernice Anderson, Fargo, North Dakota, Mrs.
Natalie Champeau, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Victor (Nanette) Decker, Owen; sevens
sons, Frederick, Milwaukee, Wilder, Marshfield, Jessie, Menomonee Falls, Robert,
Brownsville, Ore., Neal, Waterfort, Glen, Racine, and Leslie, Abilene, Texas.
There are also 36 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Other
survivors include four brothers and one sister, John, Louis and Leonard Riemer.
