Olson, Amanda (28 March 1893 - 19
March 1969)
Mrs. Amanda Olson, 76, died March 19 at the Osseo hospital
after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held Saturday from the funeral
home in Augusta and at 2 p.m. from the Methodist Church in Fairchild. The Rev.
Walker officiated. Burial was made in the Fairchild Cemetery.
Mrs.
Olson, the former Amanda Kottke was born March 28, 1893, in Fairchild. She
received her education there. Following her marriage to Andrew Olson on March
21, 1914, they lived in the Fairchild community until the death of Mr. Olson on
July 1, 1962.
Surviving are eight daughters, Mrs. Laura Obermeier, Mrs.
Everett (Almeda) Painter of California, Mrs. Alfred (Esther) Knuth of Fairchild,
Mrs. Frank (Dorothy) Pozega of Willard, Mrs. Robert (Ida) Sessions, Mrs. Harold
(Bertha) Rice and Mrs. Ray (Betty) Pickett, all of Wausau, and Mrs. Duane
(Patricia) Sessions of Marathon; four sons, Raymond, of Milwaukee, Clarence of
Minneapolis, Ernest of Chicago and David of Kenosha; 56 grandchildren and 43
great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Hulda Smuhl of Eau Claire and
two brothers, William Kottke of Fairchild and Henry Kottke of Two Rivers.

Mrs. Clarence Olson, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Olson and children,
Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Knute, Mr. and Mrs. William Kottke, Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Sackett, and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Olson, all of Fairchild; Mrs. Beverly
Gorboski and Mr. and Mrs. David Olson, Kenosha; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pozega and
children, Willard; Mr. and Mrs. Dave Pozega, St. Paul; Mr. and Mrs. Duane
Sessions and family, Marathon; Oscar Olson and Mrs. Tillie Humphrey, Eau Claire;
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Knute, Augusta.
