Cleveland, Loal V. (18
January 1882 - 28 March 1969)
Funeral services were held Monday from the
Helke Funeral Chapel in Wausau for Loal V. Cleveland, 87, of Neillsville, who
died here Friday. The Rev. Armin A. Duchow of Wausau officiated. Burial was made
in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Wausau.
Mr. Cleveland was born January 18,
1882, in Clintonville. He attended schools in Menasha and later worked at the
blacksmith trade and in stone quarries. He came to Neillsville 14 years ago. His
first wife was the former Dora Rieland. His second marriage took place in Wausau
to Minnie (Putzback) Laabs.
He is survived by his wife and the following
children: Milton of Wausau, James of Woodruff, Andrew of Wausau, Gordon of
Rhinelander, Willard of Wausau, Clayton of Woodruff, Mrs. Daniel (Gloria)
Mueller of Wausau and Mrs. Robert (Shirley) Lewis of Austin, Minn. Other
survivors include: three step-children, Wilbert Laabs of Alma Center, Carl Laabs
of Milwaukee and Mrs. Gordon (Pearl) Crose of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; two brothers,
Fay and Earl Cleveland of Menasha; several grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.
The body was taken Sunday to the Helke funeral
Chapel in Wausau. His six sons were the pallbearers.
