Sid Sorenson ( ? - 25 May 19??)
Funeral services for Sid Sorenson, 66, former resident of this village
(Dorchester, Clark Co., WI), were held Thursday, May 28, at Lake Mills. He died
Monday evening, May 25, in a Madison hospital following surgery.
Mr. and
Mrs. Sorenson and family lived here about 13 years, coming in 1926 when he was
engaged as manager of the old Dorchester Canning Co. After the company’s sale,
he was transferred to Lake Mills by the Libby Co. about 25 years ago.
He
was promoted to more responsible positions with the company before his
retirement last year. He also had worked in Medford and Colby plants briefly
before coming to Dorchester.
Mr. Sorenson was village clerk here a number
of years. He served as commander of the local American Legion post, and also
held office in the state American Legion organization. He was one of the persons
instrumental in getting the water utilities in this village, although he moved
before the installation was completed. He was a member of several of the Masonic
bodies.
Surviving are the widow and two daughters Mrs. Russell (Evelyn)
Evans, Madison; Mrs. Alvin (Marilyn) Jensen of Virginia.
