Kurtinaitis, John (15 MAY 1869 - 25 FEB 1965)

Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lublin for John Kurtinaitis, 95, who passed away Thursday, Feb. 25th, 1965 at the Havenet Nursing Home of old age. Rev. Anthony Malta officiated at the 9:30 a.m. services on Saturday, Feb. 27, and burial was in East Thorp Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Justin Jakowicz, Alfred Zulainis, Anton Wojt, Edward Maiers, Robert Elkins and William Wolf.

John Kurtinaitis was born in Lithuania on May 15, 1869, came to American in 1888 and settled in Baltimore, Md., where he worked as a tailor in a tailor shop for 12 years.

In 1900 he came to Thorp vicinity and settled on a farm in the town of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.). In 1902 he married Anna Vilkawakas and farmed until 1942 when they moved to the city of Thorp.

Preceding him in death are his wife, Anna and son John. He is survived by one son, Albin Kurtinaitis and daughter, Mrs. Aldona Milewski, both of Thorp.
