Alfred Gonnering, former resident of this community and
brother of Clarence Gonnering, died at his home in Milwaukee Monday, Jan. 11.
Death was attributed to a heart attack.
Funeral services were held from
Immaculate Mary Catholic Church, Milwaukee, last Thursday, and burial was in a
Milwaukee cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Gonnering and son Leon attended the
rites, returning home on Friday.
Alfred Gonnering was born March 24,
1907, at Port Washington and came to this community (Dorchester, Clark Co., WI)
with his parents in 1916. He attended St. Louis school here, and in 1924 went to
Milwaukee, where he had resided since. In April of 1940 he was married there,
and his widow survives, as do four children. Also surviving are three brothers
and five sisters.
