Mr. Habeck was born April 19, 1853, in Pummer, Germany, and was married there in 1881 to Amelia Timm. They came at once to America and settled about 5 ½ miles northwest of Dorchester when the country was practically all heavy woods, and remained on this farm for 36 years. In 1817 he came to the village of Dorchester and lived here until three weeks before his death when he went to live with his son on the home farm. Mrs. Habeck died in 1917.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Anna Englebert, Stevens Point, and Mrs. Bertha England, Towanda, Kans., two sons, William, Manitowoc and Carl, Dorchester, and 12 grandchildren.
He was a member of St. Peter’s church. At the funeral the choir sang “There is an Hour of Peaceful Rest”.

Out of town relatives who attended were Mr. and Mrs. William Habeck, Manitowoc, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Engelbert, William, Robert, Lorane, Rose, Janette, and Mildred Engelbert, and Miss Julia Englebert, all of Stevens Point.
