Drake, Walter A.
(19 SEP 1884 – 31 JAN 1965)
Walter A. Drake, 80, Loyal died at 11:15 p.m. Sunday at the Memorial Hospital in
Neillsville where he had been a patient for the past two weeks.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Myre Funeral Home with
the Rev. Paul Doering of the Methodist Church officiating.
Burial was made in the Windfall Cemetery at Granton.
The body lied in state beginning Tuesday morning until the time of services.
Walter A. Drake was born September 19, 1884 in the town of Fremont and received
his education at the Heathville School.
He married the former Sarah Miles on July 4, 1904 at Loyal.
The couple lived in this area most of their life and farmed in the town
of Beaver. They retired from farming
in 1954 and continued to live in the town of Beaver.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, George, Loyal; three
daughters, Mrs. Beatrice Rosik, Highland Park, Illinois; Mrs. Albert (Clara)
Oestreich, Greenville, Illinois; and Mrs. Ben (Trevalyn) Marcinkus, Waukegan,
Illinois, and 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, a brother and a sister.
