Wolf, Katherine
(19 OCT 1880 – 07 APR 1965)
Mrs. Katherine Wolf, 84, mother of Mr. Frank Wolf, passed away of complications
at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Neillsville Memorial Hospital. She had been in
ill health for the past several years.
She had been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Gerald Schmidt, of
Neillsville.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Sacred Heart Catholic
Church, Marshfield. Rev. L.H.
Timmerman officiated and burial was made in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
The former Katherine Petrack was born October 19, 1880, in Germany and at the
age of four came to the United States with her parents.
The family settled on a farm near Marshfield, where she lived until her
marriage to William Wolf, in 1905.
The couple farmed in the town of Lincoln until their retirement in 1946.
They then moved to Loyal, where they resided until Mr. Wolf’s death
September 17, 1947.
Mrs. Wolf was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Marshfield, and of the
Christian Mothers Society.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Alfred (Rose) Rondorf, Marshfield; Mrs.
Edward (Margaret) Schill, Auburndale; and Mrs. Gerald (Frances) Schmidt,
Neillsville; two sons, Frank Wolf, Loyal; and Gregor Wolf, Schofield; four
sisters, Mrs. Mary Scherr, Marshfield; Mrs. Anna Beals, Cherokee, Iowa; Mrs.
Frances McManas, Pontiac, Michigan; and Mrs. Barbara Goble, White Cloud,
Minnesota; a brother, John Petrack, Ashland; 40 grandchildren and 65
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, two sons, two brothers, and a sister.
