Sook, Flossie B. (19 FEB 1916 - 11 APR 2013)

Flossie B. Sook, age 97, formerly of Spencer, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at the Wellington Place at Rib Mountain. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 15, 2013 at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home in Spencer. The Rev. Rebekah Tarras will officiate. Burial will be held in the West Spencer Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until time of service Monday at the funeral home.

Flossie was born on February 19, 1916 in the Town of Unity, Clark County, the daughter of Lee and Belle (Hulce) Schofield. She graduated from Spencer High School, received a B.S. Degree from UW-Stevens Point and received a Master's Degree in Sociology from UW-Madison. Flossie was united in marriage to Donald Edward Sook in the Town of Unity in March, 1936.

She was a homemaker, wife, mother of six children and a teacher. Widowed in 1960, Flossie continued her education and became a social caseworker in Clark and Marathon counties, progressing to administrative positions in Marathon County until retirement at the age of seventy. She continued interim work in social services for the next two years, then volunteered at the Wausau Hospital, where she scheduled volunteer work as well as taking her turn on the job.

Flossie is survived by four children: Barbara Sook, Eau Claire, Karen (Wayne) Molle, Hanover, IL, Roy Sook, Amherst and Sandra Auld, Atlanta, GA; nine grandchildren: Melissa (Kevin Moore) Morgan, Don (Trina) Sook, Benton Molle, Dawn (Scott) Cook, Victoria (Pat) Middendorf, Sara Morgan, Christina Molle, Denise (Daniel) Kummerow and Jonette (Brad) Keibler; eight great-grandchildren: David, Kelly, Amber, Jared, William, Elizabeth, Jack and Clayton. She is further survived by three sisters: Vera Smith, Camp Douglas, Beulah Washkuhn, Green Bay and Myrna Schofield, Hazelhurst; one brother, Raymond (Pat) Schofield, Spencer; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; her son, Roger; her daughter, Judith Karow; her three sisters, Nola Seefeld, Betty Fischer, Jean Murray, one brother, Richard Schofield and an infant sister, Ramona; and two grandchildren: Sunnie and Elizabeth.
