Bemis, Orin P. (11 March 1901 - 15 January 1983)

Orin P. Bemis, 81, of Humbird, died at his home Saturday, Jan. 15, following an apparent heart attack.

He was born at Humbird on March 11, 1901, to Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bemis and had farmed in the Humbird area until retiring several years ago when he moved into Humbird. He married Tracy Mayer at the Fairview Catholic Church at Humbird November 25, 1935.

He is survived by his widow; one son, Harlan of Humbird; one brother, Clayton of Newaygo, Mich.; one sister, Lola Dimmitt of Norfolk, Va.; and two grandchildren. A brother and sister preceded him in death.

The funeral was held Tuesday, Jan. 18, 1983, from the Fairview Catholic Church with the Rev. John Cassidy officiating and burial was made in the church cemetery. The Jensen Funeral Home in Hixton had charge of arrangements.
