Poehnlein, Gail (1 February 1918 - 21 April 1969)
Mrs.
Joe (Gail) Poehnlein, 51, of Neillsville died at her home Monday. Funeral
services will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Georgas
Funeral Home, with the Rev. George M. Nelson officiating. The body will lie in
state from noon, Wednesday, until the time of services at the Fourth Street
funeral home. Burial will be made in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
Mrs.
Poehnlein, the former Gail Preston, was born February 1, 1918, in Canada, the
daughter of James and Frances (Schiller) Preston. She came to Neillsville area
at the age of four. After graduation from high school she attended an Eau Claire
beauty culture school. She worked at a beauty shop here for several years and
also operated a shop in Colby. She was married to Jo Poehnlein on March 2, 1943,
at Medford.
Mrs. Poehnlein is survived by her husband; three sons, David,
Loren and Bruce, all at home; three sisters, Miss Helen Preston of Oshkosh, Miss
Jean Preston and Mrs. Kathrine Krauth, both of Wauwatosa.

Funeral
services for Mrs. Joe Poehnlein, 51, were held last Thursday from the Georgas
Funeral Home. The Rev. George M. Nelson of St. Mary’s Catholic Church
officiated. Burial was made in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Pallbearers were:
Verland Shaw, Joe Wavrunek, Devere Krejci, John Ormond, Jr., David Hopfer and
Ted Ormond.
