Guk, Anna Helena #2 (3 July 1879 - 21 April 1969)

Mrs. Anna Guk, 89, of Greenwood died Monday in Neillsville, where she was admitted to the hospital the day before following a stroke.

Anna Helena Schlinsog, daughter of William and Amelia (Worchel) Schlinsog was born July 3, 1879, in the Town of Grant. She was married October 2, 1898, to William Guk in the Town of Grant. They farmed in the Town of Lynn. Mr. Guk died May 30, 1920. After his death she lived in Chicago for 20 years and then lived with her children. She had lived with her daughter, Mrs. Laura Limprecht, in Greenwood the last 12 years.

Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Louis (Dora) Grade of Marshfield, Mrs. Arnold (Elda) Nitschke of Granton and Mrs. Laura Limprecht, of Greenwood; a son, Arno Guk of Marshfield; a sister, Mrs. Laura Beil of Chicago; a foster sister, Mrs. Bertha Hessel of Abbotsford; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were scheduled for Wednesday afternoon from Trinity Lutheran Church in Greenwood.

Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Guk were held April 23 from the Trinity Lutheran Church in Greenwood. The Rev. Leroy Urman officiated. Burial was made in the Town of Lynn Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: John Cramer, William Guk, Ewald Schlinsog, William Schlinsog, Arvin Beil and William Guk. Edward Bizjak sang, “Asleep in Jesus” accompanied by Miss Bonnie Lenz. The congregation sang, “Abide with me.”

Out of town people included Mr. and Mrs. Louis Gray, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Guk, Mr. and Mrs. George Engstrum, of Marshfield; Mrs. William Schlinsog of Madison; Mrs. Bertha Hessel and daughter, Evelyn, of Abbotsford; Mrs. Laura Beil, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Neinas, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hillert and Mrs. Ruth Lindow of Chili; Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Dorher and Mrs. Luann Russell of Spencer; Mrs. Gerald Dankemyer and daughter and Mrs. Earl Engstrum of Neillsville; Mrs. Bertha Guk and Mr. and Mrs. Victor Schlinkert of Globe; Mrs. Betty Cramer and son, Michael, and Mr. and Mrs. John Cramer of Loyal; James Noah and Elda and Alice Cramer of Pittsville.
