Hagedorn, Viola Isabelle (10 May 1927 - 12 April 2013)

Viola I. Hagedorn, 85, of Neillsville died Friday, April 12, 2013, at Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Viola Isabelle Van Kirk was born May 10, 1927, in Arlington, WA, to Clara (Anderson) and Albert James Van Kirk. When she was only a few months old, her family moved to Sparta, and in 1939, when Viola was 12, they moved to Humbird. After her education, she worked at the Indian School in Neillsville. She was united in marriage to Louis Hause June 21, 1947. Together they farmed and had three children. Louis died April 2, 1967. Viola went to work for Memorial Hospital and Nursing Home as a nurse’s aide, where she worked for 30 years. She was united in marriage to Louis Hagedorn March 30, 1996. Viola loved bowling and was very proud she had the highest score at Neillsville Care and Rehab on Wii Bowling.

She is survived by two children, David (Maureen) Hause of Orange Park, FL, and Scott (Susan) Hause of Jacksonville, FL; 10 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by the Hagedorn family and their spouses, many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Viola was preceded in death by her first husband, Louis Hause and her second husband Louis Hagedorn; and a daughter, Penny Kernz, April 25, 1992.

Funeral services for Viola will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, at the United Church of Christ in Neillsville. Pastor Bill Brown will officiate. Providing music will be Eileen Zank, organist. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville and will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Jerold Hagedorn, John Hagedorn, Louis Hagedorn, Bruce Hagedorn, David McDonald and Rick Thoma.
