Funeral services for John
Karahula, 85, town of Roosevelt (Taylor Co., Wis.) were held at 10 a.m. satu,
March 20 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Lublin, with Rev. Edward T. Cyz
officiating. Interment took place in the church cemetery. John Karahula died
Tuesday, March 16, 1965 at Memorial Hospital, Medford, Wis. After a short
illness. The body lay in state at Thorp Funeral Home.
Born in Zalynia,
Poland, Feb. 18, 1880, he came to the United States in 1905. He lived in
Connellsville, Penn. For 1 year. Then he came to Chicago in 1906, met and
married Rose Fleszor in 1910. In May 1912 he came to farm in the town of
Roosevelt, and has farmed ever since. His wife preceded him in death on Nov. 13,
1952.
He is survived by 1 son, Joseph, at home, and 2 daughters, (Julie)
Mrs. Anthony Gressick, and (Regina) Mrs. Kroll, both of Chicago, one grandson
Darrel, and one sister, Rose, of Skokie, Ill.
The out of town relatives
and friends who attended were Mr. and Mrs. Anton Weichowicz of Conrath and Mr.
Albert Szura of Chetek, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Ostrowski, Mr. John Kopola,
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Czercowy, all of Chicago.
Pallbearers were Joseph
Pancyrz, Frank Janca, Alex Sebunia, Florian Lisiecki, Mike Rosiejka, and Tony
Grojik.
