Granton (24 April 1969)

Mrs. Frank Sholly and son, Douglas, who have been living with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. LaVern Vanderwyst, since October, left Sunday from Minneapolis for Long Beach, Calif., to join her husband, who had been on the ship John Paul Jones in Vietnam boundary waters.

A miscellaneous shower was held Monday night at the Fred Marty home honoring their daughter, Cheryl, who will be married May 3, to Jack Downer. Hostesses were Mrs. Donald Hillert of Mondovi, and Sandy Marty, both sisters of the bride-to-be. Guests were relatives and friends.

The condition of Ronald Noah, who has been a patient in Memorial Hospital since last Wednesday, is reported improved.

The Happy Hustler 4-H club held their monthly meeting Saturday, April 2, at the Lyall Johnson home. A roller skating party was discussed and there was also a discussion on beautifying the local area. Edward Crothers gave a demonstration. Rosemary Opelt gave a health talk and Mark Swenson gave a safety talk. Softball was played for recreation. A lunch was served by Gail Johnson. - Rosemary Opelt, club reporter
