Blaettler, Ivan (18 April 1919 - 13 May 1969)
Ivan
Blaettler, 50, of Spring Valley, Calif., son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Claude
Catlin of Loyal, died May 13, in Spring Valley following brain surgery.
Mr. Blaettler was born April 18, 1919, in Ogema. He was married June 13, 1944,
to Elaine Catlin at an army camp in Georgia. Most of his life was spent in
Marshfield, until 13 years ago, when they moved to California.
He is
survived by his wife; three sons, Thomas, on active duty at Port Hueneme,
Calif.; Vance, in college at San Diego, Calif., and Robert at home; a brother,
John Blaettler of Marshfield; and two half-brothers, Erhart Kick and Robert Kick
of Everett, Wash.
Graveside military rites were held May 16, in the
Roselawn Cemetery.
Those from this area who attended the funeral were Mr.
and Mrs. Claude Catlin of Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. Leon Kuester and daughter,
Delores, of Greenwood; and John Blaettler of Marshfield. Other relatives
included Mr. and Mrs. William Catlin and family of Bakersfield, Calif., and
Erhart and Robert Kick of Everett, Wash.
