Greenwood (29 May 1969)
The Salem Aid met Tuesday afternoon at the
Adolph Wessel home with Mrs. Ida Horn and Mrs. Wessel as hostesses. Mrs. Harold
Gardner conducted the meeting. It was voted to have two hostesses instead of one
at each meeting. The group had lesson three in the study guide.
The Come
and Know homemakers met Tuesday evening at the Carl Turnquist home. Mrs. Tom
Querin conducted the meeting. Officers elected were; Mrs. Duane Olson,
secretary, and Mrs. Matt Gregorich, health chairman. The lesson on “barbecue”
was presented by Mrs. Leonard Olson, Mrs. Thomas Elmer and d Mrs. Carl
Turnquist, who barbecued chicken, ground beef and fish and vegetables for a
complete meal which was served for the lunch. A picnic will be held in July, the
date to be announced later. The September meeting will be held at the home of
Mrs. A. C. Standiford, at which time ditty bags for servicemen will be packed.
Mr. and Mrs. DuWayne Carl and family of Neenah spent the weekend with his
mother, Mrs. Irvin Carl; and other relatives.
A meeting of vacation Bible
school teachers of the Zion and Immanuel congregations was held Wednesday
evening in Immanuel United Church. Plans were made and supplies selected. The
school will be held at Immanuel church June 2 through June 6 for pre-school
through seventh grade children. Milk will be furnished. Children are asked to
bring a sack lunch for the noon meal.
