Edward Nielson Laid To Rest
Funeral services were
held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Methodist Church for Edward Nielson,
38, who passed away Wednesday morning, the victim of sever bulbar type polio.
Rev. R. J. Fleming was in charge of the services.
Edward, the only child
of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Nielson, route 1, was born in Chicago November 11, 1910
and was married at Elgin, Ill., July 18, 1936 to Sylvia Tesmer.
They
lived in Marshfield for about 6 years before coming to Spencer 4 years ago to
operate the Nielson farm northwest of here.
Surviving besides his parents
and his wife are four children, Janet, 11, Karen, 10; Eric, 4, a polio patient
at Marshfield; and Alice, 3.
The body rested at the Swarthout Funeral
Home prior to the funeral services. Interment took place in the Spencer
cemetery.
Pallbearers were Victor Anderson, Melvin Schultz, Donald
Bruesewitz, Donald Krause, John Neuman, and Richard Harager.
In charge of
Flowers were Mrs. Melvin Schultz, Mrs. Victor Anderson, Mrs. Donald Bruesewitz,
Mrs. John Neuman, Mrs. Donald Krause, Miss Ione Pickett, and Mrs. Jack
McCoirison.
