Schwantes-Pischer
Miss Eloise Pischer, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Gust Pischer, route 2, Spencer, became the bride of Herbert Schwantes,
son of Mrs. Martha Schwantes at a double ring nuptial ceremony performed by the
Rev. Randolph Mueller, at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon at Trinity Lutheran
Church here.
Attending the bride as matron of honor was her sister Mrs.
Allen Breheim, Marshfield. The groom’s cousin, Mrs. Allen Dietsche and his neice
[sic], Miss Darlene Schwantes, were bridesmaids, and the bride’s sister Lucille
Pischer was flower girl. Allen Dietsche, of Marshfield was best man; Allen
Breheim, and Donald Pischer were groomsmen. John Neumann, Marshfield, and
Raymond Mundt, Chili, were the ushers.
The bride’s gown was of white
slipper satin with portrait neckline and long skirt trimmed with side panels of
Chantilly lace and satin ruffles, and ending in a train. Her finger-tip veil was
held in place with orange blossoms, and the cascade bouquet she carried included
white gladioli and pink roses.
Hoop-skirted taffeta gowns and sweetheart
bonnets were worn by the three bridal aides. Mrs. Breheim choosing orchid, Mrs.
Dietshce green, and Miss Schwantes yellow. Each carried a bouquet of white and
colored gladioli. The flower girl had a white slipper satin dress like that worn
by the bride and carried pink roses and white gladioli.
After the
ceremony a reception was held at the bride’s home and supper was served in the
church parlors to nearly 200 guests. At night a dance was held in Lincoln Park,
Bakerville, after which refreshments were served at the home of the bride. Later
the bridal pair left on a Honeymoon trip to northern Wisconsin.
The guest
list included relatives and friends from Milwaukee, Granton, Unity, Loyal,
Stratford, Greenwood, Chili and Marshfield.
Mrs. Schwantes has been
employed at Normington’s in Marshfield and her husband is employed by the
Farmers Co-op Co. After October 6 they will be at home here.
The Record
joins their many local friends in extending congratulations and best wishes for
a long and happy wedded life.
