Schultz, Leona Charlotte (31 July 1884 - 28 May 1969)
Leona Charlotte
Shultz, 84, a resident of Memorial Home, Neillsville, died May 28. Funeral
services were conducted Saturday at 1:30 p. m. from the Georgas Funeral Home,
with the Rev. Jack Grether officiating. Burial was made in the Dells Dam
Cemetery.
Mrs. Schultz was born July 31, 1884, in Indiana to Mr. Bierman
and Augusta (Kunkel) Bierman. She received her education there and moved to
Dells Dam area about 1902. She was married to Melville Horton in 1905, and they
farmed in that vicinity until his death in 1921.
After her marriage to
Philip (Kip) Schultz on April 9, 1924, in Neillsville, she and her husband lived
in the Hatfield area until 1966, when she moved to the Memorial Home because of
failing health. Mr. Schultz preceded her in death in 1968.
Mrs. Schultz
is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Emil (Alice) Novakovich, of Kenosha.
Pallbearers were: Donald Hagie, Gary Horton, Dale Schultz, Loren Schilling,
Douglas Hantke and Gayle Horton. Mrs. Heron Van Gorden sang, “He Leadeth Me” and
“In the Garden,” accompanied by Mrs. Jack Grether.
People from out of
town attending included: Mr. and Mrs. Emil Novakovich, Gary and Gayle Horton and
Mrs. James Hansche of Kenosha; Loren Schilling of Altoona; Mrs. David Planert,
Mrs. Ralph Horton, Sherry Price and Trudy Price of Eau Claire; Mrs. Marian Arndt
and Mrs. Ella Huntley of Thorp; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hagie and Bruce Hagie of
Oshkosh; Mr. and Mrs. Loren Burtelsen of Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Hantke of
Germantown; Mrs. Edwin Timmler of Loyal; and Mrs. Beatrice Schlewitz of Fall
Creek.
