The marriage of Miss
Kathleen Steinwand, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Steinwand of Colby, and
George Hellmann of Chicago, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Hellmann of South Fort
Mitchel, Ky., took place Saturday morning, June 6, 1964 at St. Mary's Catholic
Church, Colby, with the Rev. John Pinion officiating at a 10:30 a.m. ceremony.
For her wedding, the bride chose a floor length dress of cyrstal peau with a
controlled skirt. Her ensemble was completed with a simulate lace bolero, and an
open lace pillbox headpiece with a shoulder length veil. She carried a bouquet
of sweetheart roses.
The bride's sister, Mrs. Julius Kademan of
Marshfield, was the matron of honor. Jerome Hellmann of Waverly, Ohio, served as
best man for his brother.
The bride's attendant was adorned in a street
length dress of powder blue silk shantung with a matching open pillbox headpiece
and a face veil. She carried an arrangement of white daisies.
White
shasta daisies followed in theme as the church decorations.
Music during
the ceremony was provided by the parish's children's choir.
A dinner was
served at Abbotsford following the ceremony, and a reception was held for about
50 guests at the home of the bride's parents.
The young couple will make
their home at Des Plaines, Ill., where the groom is employed as a field engineer
for Altec Corp. The bride was formerly employed as a lab technician at the
Marshfield Clinic.
Guests attending the wedding came from South Fort
Mitchel, Ky., Waukesha, Wis., Northlake, Ill., Lake Tomahawk, Wis., Marshfield,
Wis., and the Colby-Abbotsford area.
