Boushon, Doreene Ardith (12 May 1934 - 20 April 2013)

Doreene A. Boushon, 78, of Loyal died at her home under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice Saturday, April 20, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.

Doreene Ardith Jakobi was born May 12, 1934, in Loyal, the daughter of Fred and Meta (Anderegg) Jakobi. She was raised on the family farm and received her education in area schools, graduating from Loyal High School in 1952. Dorene was united in marriage to Harry H. Boushon April 30, 1955, at the Veefkind Church in the Town of Sherman, Clark County. They lived in Marshfield until 1960, and then they moved to Unity, where they ran the Corner Bar tavern and restaurant until 1970. They purchased a farm northeast of Loyal and farmed until their son, Joey took over the operation in 1997.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Doreene had many interests, but especially loved flowers, gardening, her pets, hummingbirds and animals.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Vickie Lindner of Greenwood, Steven (Carol) Boushon of Lynn, Car l (Diane) Boushon of Loyal, Joe Boushon of Loyal, Brenda (Tony) Schoonover of Loyal; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald (Tie) Jakobi of Colby, Duane (Elsie) Jakobi of Chili; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Doreene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry, Dec. 6, 2005; her sister, Darlene Pischer; and two brothers and one sister in infancy.

Visitation will be held at Cuddie Funeral Home in Loyal Thursday, April 25, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Burial will take place in the Lutheran Cemetery in Loyal at a later date.
