He was united in marriage to Gladys Dux May 24, 1958. Gordon farmed with his family and occasionally helped his brother haul canned milk. In 1964, Gordon took over the family farm where they resided until the spring of 1991, when they moved to their present address.

Gordon enjoyed spending time in the woods and sawing wood, riding his Gator through the trails, attending auctions, hunting, berry picking, joke telling and spending time in his shop tinkering and making wood crafts for family and friends. Gordon was a member of the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church of Globe and served as a church officer. He was also a member of the Neillsville American Legion and the Weston town board.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys; five children, Gail (Dan) Lindgren of Loyal, Gloria (Allen) Barrow of Brunswick, GA, Greg (Dawn) Thoma of Neillsville, Gary (Kelly) Thoma of Neillsville, and Gina Thoma of Greenwood; nine grandchildren, Nate, Tom, Marc, Amber, Luke, Cassandra (Andrew) Ewald, Bob, Katie, and Kaitlin; one great-grandchild, Clara; a sister-in-law, Genevieve Dux; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, George and Bobby; a sister, Irene; and a brother-in-law, Louis Dux.

Funeral services for Gordon were held Monday, April 22, at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Globe. Pastor John Warmuth officiated. Music was provided by Karen Hoppa, organist, and Dan and Bunny Dux, vocalists. Military rites were accorded by the Neillsville Veterans Council.
