Mayer, Lorraine G. (Marriage - 31 May 1969)

Miss Lorraine G. Mayer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Mayer of Rt. 1 Humbird, and Jeffery A. Rayhorn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph C. Rayhorn of Loyal, were united in marriage Saturday at 1 p.m. at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Fairview. The Rev. David Gilles, cousin of the bride, officiated at a double-ring ceremony before 200 guests.

The bride given in marriage by her father wore a white floor-length gown with a scalloped Sabrina neckline on a fitted bodice of lace. Her full skirt of silk organza and lace was completed by a Watteau train attached at the shoulders with tiny velvet bows. Attached to her crystal crown was a two-tiered bouffant elbow-length veil. She carried a cascade bouquet of large, yellow roses and feathered carnations.

Miss Carol Meyer of Eau Claire was maid-of-honor, Miss Kathy Kurtzweil of Marshfield and Miss Lana Rayhorn of Loyal served as bridesmaids. The attendants wore yellow floor-length formals of crepe, with daisy trim at the empire waistlines, and featured slim skirts with Watteau panels. They had matching floral headpieces with pouf veils. Each carried a bouquet of assorted yellow and white daisies.

William Berry of Marshfield was bestman. Richard Dimmitt of Humbird and Bruce Rayhorn of Loyal were the groomsmen. Ushers were Bernard Laufenberg, Sr., of Alma Center and Russell Weichelt of Marshfield.

Tim Brussow, the groom’s cousin, was ringbearer, and Kathleen Mayer served her aunt as flower girl. Organ music was furnished by Diane Kaufman, and Polly Laffe sang.

A wedding reception was held for 200 guests in the church basement, which was decorated in yellow and white and wedding bells.

Upon their return June 6 from a short wedding trip in Wisconsin, Mr. and Mrs. Rayhorn will reside at Lazy Acres Estate, Wausau.

Mrs. Rayhorn graduated in 1964 from Lincoln High School and has been employed in Marshfield, but will be employed now in Wausau. Mr. Rayhorn is a 1963 graduate of Loyal High School and is a student at North Central Technical institute at Wausau. He plans to graduate in 1970. He served four years in the Air Force.
