deKennen, Edna (13 April 1896 - 6 June 1969)
Funeral services for
Mrs. August (Edna) deKennen, 73, of Neillsville, who died here Friday, were held
Monday at 10 a.m. from St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The Rev. George Nelson,
assisted by the Rev. Peter Leketas of Marshfield and the Rev. Matthew Malnar of
Nekoosa, officiated. Burial was made in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
The former Edna Quast, daughter of Joseph and Caroline (Fischer) Quast, was
born April 13, 1896, in Jefferson. She was educated there and came to Clark
County with her parents where they operated a farm on the old ’26 Road’. On
September 19, 1917, she was married to August deKennen in Greenwood. They moved
to Milwaukee, where they lived until their retirement in 1948, when they moved
to Neillsville.
Mrs. deKennen was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic
Church, St. Mary’s P.C.C.W., and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is
survived by her husband, August; two sisters, Mrs. Linus (Agnes) Prock of
Neillsville, and Mrs. John (Florence) Pauly of Milwaukee; and a brother, John
Quast of Milwaukee.
Pallbearers were: Martin Feuerstein, Earle Siebert,
Edwin J. Bauer, Herman Tesmer, Donald Schiell and William Simek.

from out of town here for the service included: Mr. and Mrs. John Pauly and John
Quast of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Jim McConnell of Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs.
Maynard Prock and family, and Mrs. Delores McKinsey of Bettendorf, Ia.; Frank
Fuller of Granada Hills, Cal.; Mrs. Paul Harr of Lexington, Ky.; Mrs. Bernard
Walker of Eau Claire; Mrs. Clara Trudeau and Ermon Trudeau of Three Lakes.
