Hoover, Martin N. (28 OCT 1925 - 22 APR 2013)
Martin N. Hoover, 87, Curtiss, passed away Monday, April 22, 2013, at his son’s
residence in the Town of Colby.
Martin was born October 28, 1925, in
Lancaster County, Pennsylvania to Harvey and Lydia (Newswanger) Hoover.
Martin married Mary Leid on November 13, 1947, in Lancaster County. They farmed
in Lancaster County for 32 years, moving and buying a farm in the town of Hoard
in 1980. They sold the farm in 1985, but he continued to work and live on it.
Martin is survived by five sons, Harvey (Anna Mary) Hoover, Aaron (Edna)
Hoover, Martin (Mabel) Hoover, Alvin (Anna) Hoover, and Norman (Ina) Hoover;
three daughters, Alice (Noah) Zimmerman, Mary (Aaron) Zimmerman, and Anna (J.
Elmer) Sauder; 65 grandchildren; 118 great-grandchildren; a brother; Willis
(Verna) Hoover; four sisters, Ada Martin, Rebecca (Isaac) Nolt, Susie (Leroy)
Martin, and Anna Marry (Aaron) Nolt.
He was preceded in death by a son,
Elam Hoover and a daughter, Ella Fox.
Services will be held at 9:30 a.m.
Friday, April 26, 2013, at Sunny Ridge Mennonite Church in the Town of Hoard,
rural Curtiss.
Bishop Alvin Martin, John Zeiset and Martin Zimmerman
will officiate. A visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Thursday,
April 25, at his son’s residence, N14778 Pelsdorf Ave, Curtiss.
Burial
will be at the Sunny Ridge Mennonite Cemetery Town of Hoard. Pallbearers will be
Glenn H. Zimmerman, Mervin S. Hoover, Marlin H. Zimmerman, Martin M. Hoover,
Matthew B. Hoover and John Elmer Sauder.
