Neff, Charles W. Sr. (28 September 1894 - 22 June 1969)

Charles W. Neff, Sr., 74, of Neillsville, died Sunday afternoon, June 22, here following a short illness. Funeral services were held from the Georgas Funeral Home Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Gale Wolf, officiating. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mr. Neff, the son of Dorr and Agnes (Carter) Neff, was born September 28, 1894, in the Town of Levis. He was educated in the area, graduating from Neillsville High School in 1912. He was married to Elvira Hemp in Neillsville on October 11, 1917. For many years they farmed the place where he was born and now owned by their son, Charles, Jr. They moved to Neillsville in 1951, but continued to farm until 1960, when they retired and moved into their home on West 4th Street. Mrs. Neff died in October, 1967.

He is survived by a son, Charles, Jr., of Rt. 3 Neillsville and a daughter Mrs. Jane Manthy of Portage; three sisters, Mrs. Lola Campbell of Cincinnati, O., Mrs. Alberta Proctor of Garden Grove, Cal., and Miss Gladys Neff of California; and by four grandchildren.

Mr. Neff was a member of the Clark County Historical Society.
