Edna Mae Rose, 80, Granton, died on Wednesday, March
27, 2013, at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were
held at 11 a.m., on Monday, April 1, at Zion American Lutheran Church, Granton.
Rev. Dale Wilford officiated. Marjorie Dahl provided the music. Burial was in
the town of Lynn Cemetery. Casket bearers were Evan Rose, Jeff Netzinger, Adam
Hines, Keith Bass and Duane Johnson.
Edna Mae Stauffacher was born on
April 17, 1932, in Granton, the daughter of Hillarious “Larry” and Anna Irene
(nee Vruwink) Stauffacher. After her schooling in Granton, she married Grant
Rose on Sept. 11, 1949 at the Zion American Lutheran Church, Granton. Together
they farmed and raised their family. Edna Mae loved farming, gardening, bowling
and playing cards. She was known for her kindness to others and always willing
to help a neighbor or a friend. She was a volunteer’s heart, spending many hours
volunteering for many different organizations. She was a member of the Zion
American Lutheran Church in Granton and its choir. She held many offices with
the ELCA throughout the years. Edna Mae also enjoyed the many fall seasons she
worked at Figi’s in Marshfield.
She is survived by three children, Rose
Ann (Gary) Chriske, Plover, Harlan (Judith) Rose, Marshfield, and Merle (Lori)
Rose, Granton; six grandchildren, Shannon (Jeff) Netzinger, Plover; Vicki (Adam)
Hines, Schaumburg, Ill., Maren (Trevor) Stoflet, Bettendorf, Iowa, Evan
(Lindsey) Rose, Altmone Springs, Fla., and DeAnna Rose, Marshfield; 10
great-grandchildren, Madison, Benjamin and Morgan Netzinger; Coley and Kyler
Hines, Lauren and Landon Stoflet, Coena Hohlstein, Natalie Rose and Kylie
Laufenberg; one brother Walter (Ruth) Stauffacher; Maple Grove, Minn.; and a
good friends, Edward Wagner.
She was preceded in death by her parents;
her husband, Grant; and two brothers, Glenn and Harold.
