Amacher, Shelbie Alaine
(Marriage - 28 June 1969)
Miss Shelbie Alaine Amacher, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Fred A. Amacher of Owen, and Henry Arnold Dingemans, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Walter Dingemans of Rt. 2 Albert Lea, Minn., were married Saturday at a 4
p.m. double-ring ceremony in St. John’s Lutheran Church at Withee, with the Rev.
Leroy Urman officiating.
Two large vases of yellow and white mums and
carnations, with ferns, decorated the church as 200 guests watched the bride’s
father give her in marriage. Her white, floor-length, empire-styled gown
featured a bodice of satin, covered with lace, a high neck collar and long
bouffant sleeves of lace. Crystal buttons closed her satin and lace cuffs. Her
A-line satin skirt had a long train of satin and lace with scalloped edges. She
carried a long bouquet of white carnations, ferns and pink bud roses.
Miss Christine Seltz of St. Paul, Minn., was maid-of-honor. Miss Anita Dingemans
of Albert Lea, Minn. and Miss Sheila Amacher of Owen were bridesmaids. They wore
empire-styled, sleeveless formal-length gowns of pink, yellow and green dotted
Swiss. Their picture hats were of white, as were their gloves. Each carried a
basket of carnations tinted the color of her dress.
Carroll Dingemans of
Albert Lea, Minn., Paul Taylor of Portage and Larry Regnen of Albert Lea, Minn.
were the groom’s attendants. Dale Amacher and Bruce Amacher, brothers of the
bride were ushers. Steven Amacher of Owen was ringbearer and Holly Amacher of
Withee was the flowergirl. Her dress matched the one worn by the maid-of-honor.
She carried a basket of flowers.
Marlyn and Kathryn Maki sang “The Lord’s
Prayer,” accompanied by Sharon Heideman.
A dinner was served in the
church basement for 200 guests, and later a reception was held at Meadow View
Country Club.
After a wedding trip to Canada, the newlyweds plan to
reside at Owen, by July 3.
The bride is a student at Ripon College and is
a member of Alpha Zi Delta sorority. The groom also is a student at Ripon and is
a member of Delta Upsilon fraternity.
