Engeldinger, John G. (10 JUL 1891 - 4 JUL 1964)
Funeral services for John G. Engeldinger, Colby, were held at 10 a.m.
Wednesday, July 8 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. Ambrose Blenker
officiated, and burial was made in Colby Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Engeldinger died
of a heart attack Saturday, July 4, 1964 at Wood Hospital in Milwaukee. He was
72 years old. Funeral arrangements were attended to by Lulloff Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Michael Stieber, James Firnstahl, Sylvester Tesmer, J.E.
Tesmer, Arnold Rannow and George Sterzinger. Members of the Colby volunteer fire
department were honorary pallbearers.
John Engeldinger was born in Colby
July 10, 1891. He was educated in Colby public schools. On Sept. 19, 1917 he
married the former Goldie Kyle. He worked as a plumber in Colby for 39 years,
and served as chief of the Colby volunteer fire department for 25 years. He was
a member of the American Legion and VFW.
He is survived by his wife; one
son, Kenneth, of Milwaukee; two daughters, Mrs. Lenore Doyle, St. Paul, and Mrs.
Norma Puts, Milwaukee; one sister, Mrs. Mary Pokallus, Milwaukee, and five
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one child and one sister.
