Vamstad, Brady (1 November 1885 - 13 July 1969)

Brady Vamstad, 83, of Withee died at 9:30 p.m. Saturday at the Havenet Nursing Home in Owen, where he had been since December 27, 1968.

Mr. Vamstad, son of Ole and Bertha (Erickson) Vamstad, was born November 1, 1885, in Green County. He was married February 25, 1919, to Agnes Boe at her parents’ home in the Town of Mead. After their marriage they settled on a farm in the Town of Longwood. They retired from farming 17 years ago and moved to Withee where they had resided since. He was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Greenwood.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Reino (Ruth) Kolpanen of Golden, Col.; two grandchildren; two brothers, Oscar and Thorvall of Blanchardville; six sisters, Mrs. Anton (Lena) Hanson, Mrs. Isaac (Tillie) Berg and Mrs. Olaf (Olga) Stenbroten, all of Blanchardville, Mrs. Martin (Nellie) Gilbertson of Hollandale, Mrs. Morgan (Bertha) Berg of Mt. Horeb, and Mrs. Carrie Jorenby of New Glarus.

Funeral services were scheduled for Wednesday from Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. The Rev. Arvid Myhrwold officiated. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.
