Lowery, Will (Hurt by Falling Tree - 9 DEC 1917)
Will Lowery is under a physician's care since Sunday when he was severely
injured through being struck by a falling tree. He, in company with his father,
Chas. Lowery, were engaged in cutting down trees on his place for fire wood on
Sunday, when carrying a double bitted ax and running before a falling tree, he
was caught by the tree and struck a terrific blow which knocked him down,
severely injuring his back by the force of the blow. He fell in such a manner
upon his axe as to cut a several inch gash above his right eye. The large limbs
of the tree striking the ground broke the force of the blow and undoubtedly save
his life.
