Mrs. A.J. Knorr will entertain the Circle next week
Wednesday.
Albert Mantey was at Marshfield last Friday.
Mrs. Will
Sweeting of Waldo is visiting at H.F. Lawson's since Wednesday.
Leonard
Cole is sick and confined at home since Wednesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Jesse
Rowe of R. 1 visited Marshfield friends Tuesday.
The Misses Frances and
stella Davis visited friends at Neillsville on Monday.
Mrs. F.J. Baer was
engaged with abstract work at Neillsville last Monday.
Mrs. Fred Dopp and
daughter Leila visited Neillsville friends on Saturday.
Gilbert
Sternitzky and Miss Frieda Williams, both of Lynn, were county seat visitors on
Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Wilke went to Neillsville Saturday evening
on a visit to his mother.
Mrs. Isla Galbreath of Route 4 is visiting the
Isaac Higgins family at Gotham since late last week.
Aug. Gotter, Geo.
Hollenbach, Carl Krause and O.A. Peterson were Neillsville visitors last Friday.
Donald Grabe and John Wierenzenski of Route 1 came home from Marshfield on
Tuesday.
Mrs. Leon Sternitzky and Miss Frieda Williams, both of Lynn,
spent Thursday with friends in Marshfield.
Mrs. W.S. Davis, a patient in
the Sacred Heart Sanatorium at Milwaukee for 2 weeks past, is reported as
somewhat improved.
Mrs. McKeand of Chicago is here to visit her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Schlinsog, since Thursday.
Mrs. Hannah Mahn of
Neillsville is visiting at her brother Adolph Schune's since Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Fischer, after a several weeks visit at Wm. Bartz's, went home
to Brillion on Saturday.
Hugh Berg has accepted a position with Winn &
S... at the grist mill, and entered upon his duties there on Monday.

A.L. Devos of Neillsville spent Friday afternoon here with her sister, Mrs.
Ernest Dixon.
George Eimerman of Marshfield, autoed over from Marshfield
last week Thursday and made a couple days visit to the Frank Lavey family.
Mrs. Ben Langreck took baby Angeline to Eau Claire last Saturday for medical
care and treatment, at the Sacred Heart Hospital there.
Mr. and Mrs. T.S.
Jordan of West Lima are visiting at Loyal Jordan's on Route 1 since Monday.
Clarence Mahn of Ocean Park, Calif., visited his grandma Schune and other
relatives here several days last week.
Mrs. Ernest Dixon and baby Donald
went to Neillsville Friday evening and visited Mr. and Mrs. A.L. Devos until
Saturday afternoon.
Mrs. A. Rueth of Heathville went to Sun Prairie last
Friday for a visit of a week or more among relatives.
Dr. Murphy went to
Milwaukee Tuesday night with Miss Mildred Kintzele, who is since then a patient
in one of that city's hospitals.
The Misses Frieda Garbisch and Lottie
Albrecht arrived home from Rochester, Minn. on Monday to remain over the
holidays.
Mr. and Mrs. ? J. Keller and their two children came from St.
Paul Monday on a visit to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Keller of Lynn.
Mr. and Mrs. Otto Kalsow of Neillsville, returning from a visit with relatives
at Marshfield Saturday, stopped off here and made an over Sunday visit at the
Wm. Storm home.
Mrs. Sam Arthur and daughter Evelyn of Sheboygan County,
who are here visiting at W.J. Davis', spent Tuesday with Mrs. E.R. Wonser. The
ladies are old friends.
Mrs. Elizabeth Fuller entertained the Windfall
Birthday Club last week Thursday and a very enjoyable time was reported.
Vernon Wright went to Chicago Monday on business connected with his enlistment
in Uncle Sam's Aviation Corps.
Mrs. John Trimberger, her daughter Amelia
and son Victor, Miss Elsie Neitzel and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Cole were
Neillsville visitors last Tuesday.
Miss Flora Gehrke, after a week's
visit with relatives in the Charles Neinas family, went home to Marshfield on
Tuesday.
Herman Schoengarth resigned his position at Winn & Son grits
mill and elevator Saturday, and is since employed in the K. Davis Barber Shop.
See Mice and Men, the big photo drama at the opera house, Dec. 22nd. There
will be two shows, first to start at 7:30.
Mrs. Wm. Seidelman and Mrs.
Jake Andregg, both of York, went to Marshfield Saturday to consult a physician
in regard to the health of Mrs. Andregg.
Mrs. Ara Lee and Mrs. Ernest
Yankee went to Marshfield last Friday and visited friends until the next day.
They visited Mrs. Otto Yordi, a patient in the hospital there, Friday afternoon,
and report her as doing very nicely.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Stallman and
baby Mae came up from Camp Douglas Friday and made an over Sunday visit to his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Stallman.
Mr. and Mrs. James Wanless, after a
visit with relatives and old friends on route 1, particularly the Walter Minett,
Fred and John Pizer families, left for home at Gillingham last Friday.
Tim King went to Eau Claire Thursday evening of last week on business connected
with his application for entrance into Uncle Sam's Aviation Corps.
Leona
Downer, a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield since Sunday when she
was taken there suffering with appendicitis. Her mother remained with here there
until Tuesday evening.
James Scoles is here since Tuesday boarding at the
Rice Davis home and under a local physician's care, being quite indisposed again
since Thanksgiving.
Mrs. R. Rath went to Chicago on Monday.
Earl
Haltaufderheide went to Two Rivers Wednesday to spend the winter with his
brother Edwin, there.
The Owen Enterprise came out in a fine new Linotype
dress cast in their own office, last week.
Mrs. Hale Davis has been quite
handicapped and confined to her bed since Wednesday.
Myron Spry left on
an extended trip and visit to Seymour and Green Bay, Wednesday.
Granton
boys writing home from Waco, Texas acknowledge the receipt of the welcome
comfort baags sent them by the local Red Cross and personal friends here.
John Garbush and his nephew Arnold Garbush, both of Scott, Sheboygan County,
arrived here Tuesday evening on a visit between the Henry, Robert, Paul Herman
and Fred Garbisch families, and other relatives.
Mrs. E.R. Wonser, Mrs.
Edw. Schroeder, and Mrs. John Rausch went to Marshfield last week Thursday and
visited Mrs. D.S. Rausch, a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital, there.
Otto
Schwanebeck came home from Florence, Minn. Tuesday, accompanied by Peter Casper
of that place, and they are now with the Max and Herman Schwanebeck families on
Route 4.
Crandall's Orchestra will give a Xmas Dance at the Granton Opera
House, Dec. 25.
Mr. and Mrs. Herman Berthold of Tioga were here one day
last week. This office acknowledges a pleasant call. Mr. Berthold informs us
that he was one of the lucky hunters this season, having bagged a fine deer.
While here he bargained for a Ford car to be delivered to him in the spring.
Aug. Teatz, a well-known town of Lynn farmer, a member of Rev. Reiff's
congregation, who was not solicited from during the Y.M.C.A. war fund campaign
several weeks since, came in Tuesday with a donation of $2.00, which was
accepted and sent in to the state Y.M.C.A. treasurer, H.F. Lindsey of Milwaukee.
Miss Sarah Mae Davis arrived home last Saturday evening after a several
weeks visit between relatives at Milwaukee and Sheboygan. Her aunt Mrs. Arthur
and the latter's little daughter of Sheboygan, accompanied her home.
Capt. Louis S. Davis of a Railway Engineering Reserve Corps, who, with his
bride, was here from St. Joseph, Mo. On a visit to relatives, was called to San
Antonio, Texas to report for duty on Saturday. His bride left here for her old
home at St. Joseph, Mo. On the same train and after a short visit with home
folk, she expects to join Louis at San Antonio where it is expected he may be
stationed for some time.
Mrs. Geo. Miner, with Maxine and baby Frederick,
after a several weeks visit with the Fred Grassman family and other relatives,
left on the home trip to Milo, N.D., Saturday They were to visit relatives at
Minneapolis over Sunday, only.
