An American Legion
Auxiliary meeting will be held Monday in the legion Hall in Greenwood. Hostesses
will be Mrs. Francis Hinker, Mrs. Harold Hendrickson, Mrs. Truman Hill, Mrs.
Leonard Johnson and Mrs. Adolph Jackson.
American Lutheran Church women
will meet in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church at 8 p.m. July 23. Mrs. Robert Ramin
of Minneapolis will be the guest speaker. A potluck lunch will be served.
Mr. and Mrs. Cletus Hinker and sons, Jack and Danny, returned to Oak Lawn,
Ill., Saturday, after spending a week with his mother, Mrs. Frances Hinker, and
with his brother, Sylvester Hinker and family.
Mrs. Jack Dyrness of
Ashland arrived Wednesday for a visit at the Robert Stewart home.
Mr. and
Mrs. Ronald Hendrickson of Wonewoc spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Arthur Hendrickson of Greenwood and Mrs. Ruth Heil of Marshfield.
Mrs. George Poppe left Sunday to spend several weeks with her sister, Mrs. Dora
Schuman, in Watertown, S. D.
Mr. and Mrs. William Jensen of Parpen
Springs, Fla., were Sunday afternoon guests at the Martin Kirn home in Willard.
The Jensens are spending the summer at their cottage on Mead Lake.
Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Timmler of Loyal, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Kirn of Willard, Mr. and
Mrs. Walter Schwarze and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Vollrath of Greenwood were
entertained Sunday evening at the Henry Keller home in celebration of Mrs.
Keller’s birthday. The evening was spent playing cards. Mrs. Keller served a
lunch by candlelight when the electric current went off during a thunderstorm.
The Women’s Guild met Wednesday afternoon last week in Immanuel United
Church. Mrs. Henry Vollrath presided. Devotions were by Mrs. Phillip Vollrath.
Mrs. Logue presented the lesson, “God judges men and nations”. Mrs. Erna Wehrman
volunteered to make sick calls for the month of July. A guest, Mrs. Alice Egbert
of Abilene, Kans., offered the table prayer. A lunch was served by Mrs. David
Logue and Mrs. Delmar Toburen. The next meeting will be held August 6. Hostesses
will be Mrs. Erna Wehrman and Mrs. Adolph Wendt.
The Senior Citizens
clubs of Clark County picnic was to be held at Hatfield Wednesday in the shelter
house on the West side of the lake.
